Tangit PVC-U PLUS adhesive Drinking water approval
- For bonding thermoplastic PVC-U pressure pipe systems in accordance with EN 1452 and EN ISO 15493 (not suitable for PoolFlex adhesive hose)

Tangit PLUS does not contain the two solvents tetrahydrofuran (THF) and cyclohexanone. The drinking water approvals for Tangit Standard adhesives no longer exist. For drinking water applications and with regard to health aspects for the user (occupational exposure limit), only Tangit PLUS should be used.

Keep out of the reach of children. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Do not smoke. Do not breathe mist/vapor. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. Wear protective gloves/eye protection. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if possible. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor. Dispose of waste and residues in accordance with local regulations.

Use of PVC-U adhesive
Bonding PVC-U pipe and fittings is actually the wrong term, as the process is cold welding. After final curing, the pipe, adhesive and socket form a firmly bonded unit and, if carried out correctly, the joint has the same quality characteristics as the rest of the PVC-U pipe system. Once the adhesive has cured, no chemical substances are released into the pipe system. The bonded joint can no longer be removed and can only be destroyed mechanically. PVC-U adhesive can be stored unopened in its original container for at least 24 months - theoretically indefinitely. However, as there is minimal oxygen exchange even in the unopened original container, the adhesive will thicken over time. This process is "accelerated" when the container is opened. Viscous adhesive that is no longer spreadable and can no longer be applied with a brush should no longer be used. Do not dilute with cleaner! Minimum ambient temperature for bonding work: + 5°C.
PVC-U adhesive contains a high proportion of solvents and is highly flammable!
